I prefer the "xjack" type connector. The only models I know of with this
type of connector (please add to the list if you know of others) are
3Com/Megahertz/U.S Robotics, Hayes (called EZJack), and Simple Technology
(Simplejack).
The Simple Technology is offered at much lower prices and has a lot of
features, so I'm thinking of getting this one (56K Communicator with
SimpleJack). Anyone had experience with this model? How do you like it?
I think however, that the 3com and Hayes already come as native v90 models,
whereas the Simple Technology model is still k56Flex (probably software
upgradeable). Is there an advantage to buying a modem that's built as v90,
rather than upgrading a k56flex modem with a downloaded file?
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks, Mike
