I want to get a pocket size camera and I hesitate between the Canon Ixus400
and the Sony P10. Both are small enough for what I need, so the deciding
factor is picture quality. I know that the P10 is 5 million pixels and the
Canon is 4 million, but I hear that the latter has a better lens. Any
opinions?

Thanks in advance, Enrique

Stay away from Canon.

Read my message below.

Call their number or try to email Canon. No such email exists.

What are you going to do when Canon warranty expires? Ask how much they
charge to repair and where you have to send it.

Just a suggestion.

Hmmm, Cannon has always been responsive and on top of it for me.

(???) Maybe it's the difference between the US Canon and the home
office (HQ) here in Japan...

Don't buy Sony... Unless you want plastic crap designed to break
as soon as the warrentee period is over. If it's a choice between
between a Sony and a Cannon I'd get the Cannon reguardless of a
little difference in spec.

This is comming from a guy (me) who works inside Sony as an independant
contractor here in Japan fairly often.

My experience with Canon Canada is a pleasure one, totally satify.....
I've been dealing with different big name services for years, Canon Canada's
customer service is one of the best....IMHO
Any email I sent was promptly reply next day, and always a follow-up email
from them to make sure everything OK. I haven't seen any other company do
this.
I had sent one camera repaired in with the warranty expired, after one week
they send back my camera repaired and fully working and NO CHARGE !!! Am I
lucky ???
Just bought a Powershot A70 in addition to my Powershot G3, they both works
great........No problems whatsoever so far.........

Enrique,

Check out the digital camera reviews here:

http://www.Znews.com/photo/reviews/digitalcam.html

These are not professional grade, but very good digital cameras --
small and excellent ratings.

Nope! This is indeed the level of service I have come to expect from
Canon, Nikon. Olympus, and other digital camera manufacturers that
have (or had) a popular line of SLR cameras.

AND exactly what you'll never get from Sony, Panasonic, Kyocera,
Hitachi, and other junk dealers.
