My friend has a Panasonic DV video camcorder that comes with a fire-wire to
connect to his PC.
His PC, an HP, did not have a fire-wire plug.
He bought a fire-wire board and put it into his PC.
When it is all hooked up, he ran Windows Video software but it did not see
the attached camera.

Any advice?

Alan

has he used windows update to see if any drivers are found if not go into
START--->SETTINS--->CONTROL PANEL--->Scanners and Cameras

if your dv cam is not showing there you will have to update via windows,
thats how i sorted mine out, plug dv cable into ur firewire card, then into
ur dv cam, reboot, and should come up then
