I was wondering when people thought the price of SLR digital cameras would
come down to an affoardable level such as $600-$1000 Aust (US$1200-$2000).
I'm eager to get into digital but aren't ready to get rid of apature control
and manual focusing (i know these exist in digital camera but not to the
extent they do in typical film slr).

I think $600-$1000 AUD is more like $350-$600 USD, and I think the answer is
without lens probably within a year or two, with (a good) lens maybe never.
