Hi all:

How can I adjust the shutter speed on a nikon coolpix 4300. In other words,
how can achieve the slow shutter speed effect with this camera? Thank you in
advance.

I've got a 4300 and I don't think you can adjust the shutter speed. My user guide says
"Mechanical and charge coupled electronic shutter 8-1/1000 sec.; Bulb (up to 60 sec. in
M mode)" whatever that means :-(

I have to admit I'm not achieving very much when I step outside automatic mode.

Page 108 in the manual..quote..In manual mode shutter speed is chosen by
pressing up & down arrows whilst holding down the +/- button...etc
etc...Options range from 8 sec to 1/1000 in increments of one stop.
The manual makes it easier to describe with illustrations...

Sorry, I missed that; 'Shutter Speed' does not appear in the manual's index so page 108
is a surprise to me :-(

I take it you *do* have a manual, jk? The Nikon on line pages are possibly more
comprehensive.
