I just have bought a Canon Powershot A70 Digicam and I allready had a Mustek
600CU scanner who are both connected via USB on a PC with Windows XP Pro
with Service Pack 1.
The problem is now that when I connect the digicam,he won't be reconized at
first, but after a reboot he works perfectly but than I get no response from
the scanner.
But after I disconnect the digicam and I reboot again, the scanner works
perfectly.
I've tried to change some things in regedit because the both divices seems
to use the same file ( C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\UsbScan.sys ),but that
didn't works allso.
Does anybody knows this problem and knows what I must do about it (instead
of using a cardreader)
Thx in advance!!!!

This is a known problem with windows XP. Only one USB imaging device can be
used at a time as these devices all use USBSCAN.SYS and the OS. can only
support one instance at a time.

The workaround is only to connect the device you need to use when you need
it.
See MS knowledge base article 324756 dated June 2002.

You may need a power USB hub as both devices may pull more power than the PC
can deliver.
