Hi
I have formatted a Sandisk 64mb smartmedia card several times using a Dazzle
multicard reader.
The problem is that it comes up saying "Card not initialised".
How do I overcome this please?
I am using a Fuji Finepix 2200 camera.

Thanks for any help.

Michael

Hi...

With my Olympus the card MUST be formatted by the camera, so
I think it's a pretty safe bet that Fuji is the same.

The prime reason seems to be that the camera formats it
with a couple of sub-directories under the root, and that's
where your pictures will end up.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

'Twas a bad idea to format it with the card reader!.. I had that problem
with a certain card on my toshiba m71 but at the same time other cameras had
no problem with that card. Try formatting it on some other camera, see if it
helps.

Hi
thanks for your info. I found out what the problem was. When formatting I
selected FAT32 and I should have selected FAT only. Thanks for your help
anyway!
