I just got a Minolta Dimage F-300 and noticed that some of my shots are out of focus. I use a backdrop in a studio with a combination of flourscent and incadecent lighting. My model is positioned about 4' from the background and I have used a combination of auto and manual modes with the flash on and sometimes off. I was wondering if there was one setting that would assure me properly focused photos? My photos are posted on the web and I trim them down to about 65K with an image size of 640 x 480.

Sounds like the autofocus is not locking on the target. If you have a manual focus/AE Lock function, try using that to see if you can get sharper pix.
