Canon G5 / Nikon 5700 Pros/Cons

Ok.. I'm still researching... I like the G5 specs. What do you think? My
Transition from 35mm to my first Digital... G5, 5700, 5400?? Decisions..
Decisions.... I have read all the specs.. but I know you guys that own and
use these cameras daily are the best source!! There seems to be a lot of
negatives on the Nikon 5700. Is the 5400 a better camera? The G5?
I am getting a headache : (

Your opinion is valuable to me... please comment if you own or have used
these or similar types.

I agonized over this for some time and was going to go for Olympus E-10 but
then I heard about Nikon 5700. There were many positive feedbacks and I
bought one today from Butterfly Photoshop in NYC.

My decision was influenced by these factors: cost, features, (e.g. fixed
lens) and brand.

Wow !! good for you... I really like the specs of the 5700... give me an
update after you use it a couple days..
The 5700 has a digital viewfinder opposed to an optical as in the 5400. I
would really be interested to hear how you feel about a digital viewfinder.
I think this would be difficult for me to adjust to. This is one reason I
feel drawn towards the 5400 or similar. Please update after getting a feel
for it.

I've used all 3... I like them all. I favor the 5700
by quite a margin but that's just a personal problem. O :-)

None of these are SLRs by the way!
