My computer locks up every time I try to transfer pictures from my camera to my hard drive. Norton Utilities says I am missing a file [hal.dll] in Windows/System/Sonysys.sys. I have two Sony disks -- one that came with the camera and one that came with the memory stick reader. Neither disk contains this file. Any suggestions? I am running Windows 98SE. harrym

HAL.DLL is a Windows NT family file.
Sounds like Norton strikes again ! Best place for nany Norton product is on store shelves.

Thanks. I'll look for another cause for my problem. The CD label says "for Windows 98/98SE," but the .dll files [viewed in Explorer] say "for Windows 95 and NT." harrym
