I researched the included software. On both CDs.
ZoomBrowser gets poor comments. And the update version 4 seems to be both
improved and worsened. Not encouraging. :)
PhotoImpression also seemed not the best.
I may eventually risk tryout installations, with the accompanying mess of
reverting to backed up registry, etc.

Canon's included TWAIN seemed it install fine, with exception that PnP
process needed guidance to find one cab file. I've gained impression that
this is the only camera specific software that needs to be installed. It
asked me to choose Kodak imaging (included in win 98, 98se with 512 RAM,
BTW) or my scanner's app. I choose Kodak imaging.

Then I installed Breeze Downloader from their site. www.breezesys.com
Downloader_v1.5_Setup.exe
Its wouldn't self-unpack. WinZip opened it, but was able to extract only 4
files. I gave up.

I then opened Adobe PhotoDeluxe (1997 era version). I chose to "get" from
camera, chose this camera. A Canon window opened, small dialog with racing
dashed bar blipped open, close. Then gray area had statement something like,
"no images shown" (I can't recall wording). I looked to see if the camera
might show as a drive in "My Computer" but I think the s200 is a bit too
obsolete to do that. It didn't.

any ideas? Back up reg again and install ZoomBrowser?

TIA.

An HP camera had previously been installed on this computer. I opened it's
downloader "PhotoSmart", but it couldn't see the Canon and there were no
commands that could 'change" the camera that software worked with.

next I tried formatting the CF card. took another test pic. and now
everything works right as far as copying to a the hard disc folder. The
canon s200 doesn't seem to be the type that can be "seen" by windows as a
drive.
