Hi,

On occasion it would appear that a target volume unmounts, most critically during a Fixity scan recently. (iMac connected to Sonnet Twin to NETGEAR 8-port ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Smart Managed Switch, to QNAP TS-1685).  This is infrequent and I’ve yet to troubleshoot it.

That said, when I remounted the QNAP on the desktop it seems like Fixity resumed the scan. That’s the good news, but though there is activity (file paths flashing in the scan window) the # of days has exceeded any reasonable expectation (over a week for 3TB). In future I’ll quit the scan and start over, but has anyone had experience with such a phenomena and/or have thoughts/guidance?

Thanks,

Paul

While reviewing the seemingly stalled scan in progress within Fixity, my cursor became a frozen beachball. (had not notices that happening in past reviews) I am hard-pressed to remember the timing or if any user action or selection resulted in this. However seeing this made me look at the force-quit listing of applications that were running, and indeed Fixity was not responding. In future the moment I suspect that a scan is hung up, I will visit this window for a “not responding” alert. In the many days the scan seem to be running I was given a sense of false confidence via the Directory paths flashing by in what I’m calling the scan window. I hope this makes sense, I’m happy to clarify if it doesn’t

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with Fixity. We are very sorry that you are experiencing difficulties. We are aware that processing speed and user notification during scans are issues we need to continue working on. We have taken note of your comments, but please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about our app.

Best,

Pamela
