Setting session programmatically

Examples show only 1 way to set session details only using conf file.

Looking through the source code I did not find a way to set session parameters directly.
I need it to let fix8 to run in container where parameters are passed as environment variables. Generating xml config file looks like overkill.

Hope somebody can show the way how to set programmatically port to listen or server to connect to
