The professional men's race will be broadcast live for free at ironman.com/live with coverage of the professional race starting at 6:00 am CEST. Thirty-five-year-old German Clavel comes to this race hoping to turn his 2023 around after a few disappointing placements. This will be his first time competing at this race, though Clavel is familiar on both the European scene and at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona (where his best result was 19th in 2018). Expect a strong swim-bike from this Freiburg-based athlete.
This Swiss short-course athlete has been moving up to the half distance of late, and placed eighth at IRONMAN South Africa earlier this year. This weekend, he'll be hoping to tap into some of his characteristic run speed over the full distance on home turf.
This Denmark-based Swede has already shown that he belongs at the highest level by winning five IRONMAN races in his career. He's also gone under eight hours on four occasions, putting him with the best in class in IRONMAN racing.
A relatively young athlete with loads of promise, here is another Swede with an impressive list of accomplishments. He's enjoyed numerous IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 podiums at his short list of races thus far. With his intimidating bike-run combo, you can never count him out of the mix.
