why does "start fitting" button not work well?

I just tried to do some simple analysis for the peaks (to obtain the hwhm for different peaks in my data). After I loaded the file and stripped the background, I added the peak manually and then pressed the "start fitting" button. nothing happened. What might be the problem for my handling? I downloaded the newest version online.
