fityk slow when using a lot of datasets

Hi! 

Thank a lot for developing this amazing software. 

While it works amazingly when working with a small number of datasets, I experience a strong slow down when working with a large number of datasets (500-1000). Most of the operation takes longer (adding functions, fitting, opening the file, exporting peaks) the larger the number of datasets is. Is this problem related to my configuration (I experienced this problem on different Linux distros). Is there a way to work around this problem or is embedded in the design of Fityk?

To bring a small example, in order to better understand the problem, here is a small python script that should be self explanatory. On my system fitting the small session takes ~2.5 ms compared to 500 ms for the large one. I would expect the time to be equivalent as I am fitting the same dataset with the same initial conditions.
