Hello FITS Letter Signatories,
Thank you again for your support of FITS and its long-term sustainability.

I have shared the attached Letter of Support with Neil Jefferies, Executive Director of the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF), in advance of the February 24 OPF Board meeting, where FITS is on the agenda.

The letter is a strong indication of the community’s commitment to FITS. As a membership organization, the OPF provides stewardship for digital preservation projects and tools through member support. The case for OPF’s adoption of FITS would be further strengthened by clear evidence of institutional membership interest.

Action requested: As soon as possible, and before February 24, please email Neil (neil.je...@openpreservation.org) to indicate whether:
  • Your institution is a current OPF member in support of FITS, or
  • Your institution would consider becoming a member.

Thank you again for your engagement and support. We will be continuing the conversation on March 10:

Best regards,

--
