I use anaconda prompt  with all steps
but gives me error message Output in format: Requested package -> Available versions

1- conda config --add channels defaults
conda config --add channels conda-forge
conda config --add channels bioconda
2-conda install fithic

Hey Ahmed,

I think the issue is a conflict with an existing package. Could you try to create a separate clean Python3 environment using `conda env`, and try installing fithic to that?

Best,
Arya

Hey Ahmed,

No problem! So making a new environment allowed the pip install to work?

Best,
Arya

Hey Arya,

I guess I have a similar problem.

OS: Ubuntu 18.04

I created a new conda environment with python 3.7
When I try to install fithic with "conda install", I receive an incompatibility message below and installation stops.

UnsatisfiableError: The following specifications were found to be incompatible with each other:

Output in format: Requested package -> Available versions The following specifications were found to be incompatible with your CUDA driver:

  - feature:/linux-64::__cuda==10.2=0
  - feature:|@/linux-64::__cuda==10.2=0

Your installed CUDA driver is: 10.2

I will try to see where in the package or code you specify a cuda_toolkit version.

What do you think would be the solution here?

Thanks,

Emel

Hey Emel,

Little odd as we don't use any CUDA code in FitHiC. Could 'pip install' and let us know if you have the same problem?

Best,
Arya

Yes yes, pip install works fine.

I prefer conda in almost all cases.
But conda gives the error above so just to inform you.

Best,
Emel

Thanks for letting us know! I've found quite a bit of people reporting this same error, and am looking for a fix.

For the meantime, pip install should work as its internals are identical to the conda package.
