Fit and Healthy version 1.2.3 adds support for importing step counts as well as body weight from Fitbit.  Step counts can be added by selecting the option under data synchronisation.

This version also adds a tracker tile to S Health so that the latest step count from Fitbit can be seen at a glance alongside other S Health data.

Clicking on the tracker tile leads to a set of History graphs showing daily, monthly and total historic view of the step counts recorded.

Please ask questions, report bugs or make suggestions to this feature.

My steps from fit bit appear on the small tile in S Health, but the do not appear in the S Health steps counter or history. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal.  Samsung S Health's step counter/history does not show data from external apps.  This may change in a future version of S Health.

No, it will not double count the steps as S Health tracks each device separately.  Fit and Healthy records the Fitbit step account under a "Fitbit tracker" device.  In Fit and Healthy's history graph, the device can be selected under "Source data".

actually I think I found the setting. I switch the data exists flag to override if I want to keep my fitbit data. Is that right?

May I ask how did u do that?  Compare on a time (minute) basis if there is data a on fitbit and s health?

I should have mentioned that my tracker is a fitbit devise

Yes, it is compared on time basis and device type.  The other thing with Step counts is that Fitbit sends a daily total.  What ends up happening is that Fit and Healthy always overwrites the step count so that it saves the latest data from Fitbit into S Health.  The step count is saved at the 00:00 (midnight) timestamp.

Jason,

thank you for your support in your emails.

I am very grateful that you have developed a program that will communicate with Samsung's S Health app.

The reason why I write that statement is because I have experienced Samsung S health to be one of the better health programs that is helping me to lose weight and to exercise more.

I just bought your step pack.

However I want to ask if I need to download the Fitbit app in order to tie in with your app in order to tie into S health?

I didn't want to place the Fitbit app on my phone because I do not want too many apps working in the background of my Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

I want to thank you again for this app and your support.

The tracker tile can be selected by going into S Health and selecting "Manage Items" from the menu.  Then scroll right down to the bottom and enable "Fit and Healthy".  Back at the main screen of S Health, scroll down until you see the tiles (cards) and there should be a yellow coloured one with the Fitbit step count in it.

Try going to: https://www.fitbit.com At the page, select "Log" at the top of the screen, then the "Activities" tab.  You should see your Samsung steps on this page.

Being unable to set the goal is a problem in S Health.  Samsung have said that they would fix this bug in an upcoming release of S Health.  Have you updated S Health to the latest version?

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can change in Fit and Healthy to enable the goal.  I would imagine that once S Health fixes this bug, that you would need to reset the goal in S Health.

I have an error that says Fit and Healthy icon image size is too big. And no matter what I try I cannot get fit bit steps to import into S Health. It says its synching but the steps never show. I wonder if this icon size is causing problems with the tile and thereby causing problems with the sync?
I have a S8+ if that matters.

Just got your app, and upgraded some of the features... I have a gear2, but find that Fitbit has better food tracking, and have the aria scale. When my steps come accross to fitbit, shows as 'Exercise' for that hour... any way around that... or does it not recorgnize the 'workout' part of Shealth and exercise and steps just as steps? Or if there are additiional add-ons for this feature, have not seen them. Only purchased Fitbit export & Fitbit weight.

I have the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier when I look at the data in the FitBit mobile application or online I see calories and can't see steps.

Do I have to have a fitbit device associated with my account or how do I get this enabled?

Hi,
I've bought a Samsung gear to replace my outdated fitbit flex. I was able to sync about a month's worth of data from the fitbit to S-health, but nothing dating back further.
When I log into fitbit I can see a year's worth of data, but for some reason it does not carry over.
Any idea on what is wrong?
Thanks in advance!

That is disappointing. It is probably out of your control. I wanted to challenge my brother on steps. He's on fitbit/iphone, I'm on sgear/galaxy. I hired this would some it, but there is still no middle ground for us. I was really hoping this would solve it.

That said, I'm glad to be able to sync weight from my aria. Thanks.

I need a 'work around' in the opposite direction. I have Samsung gear fit pro tracker which syncs with s-health but is not supported by my healthcare provider on an iOS platform. Any idea how I can sync my s-health with a third party app, like Fitbit, so I can transfer m fitness data to the SP?

Sounds like i have the same problem. I have a Samsung Gear watch, and use the Samsung Health App. Both show my steps accurately. Most of my friends however, have fitbits and the fitbit app. I want my samsung health app to export the steps into the fitbit app, so i can share my steps with my fit bit friends.

I have downloaded the fit bit app (and do not have any fitbit device associated with that app). I installed the fit and healthy app, and purchased "fitbit export pack" which from what I read, is supposed to export the samsung steps to the fit bit app.

I have turned on all the export switches, granted permissions, etc... but everytime i look at the fitbit app, i only see calories burned. I do not see any data on steps.

the samsung health app has a tile for the fit and healthy app. Pressing "update" on that tile brings up a sync page. Pressing sync seems to start reading and exporting steps, but then finishes with a "samsung health found no data" error.

Any suggestions on what to check or better way to get my samsung health steps into the fit bit app?

one thing that is odd is that if a log into my account at the fitbit website, there is some step data there under the activities tab. its not exactly the same as the Samsung health data though.

The Fitbit Android app requires a Fitbit tracker associated to the account for it to show steps in the app.  I'm not sure why they made it that way.  For more information, take a look at the following question and answer under "Does the Fitbit app track my steps and activities automatically if I'm not using a tracker?" http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1347

Also please check that you have the Samsung Gear selected as the "export device" in Fit and Healthy's Data sync settings under "Export step data from device".

The Fitbit community related features, like friends challenges, leaderboards, dashboards etc require you to use a Fitbit tracker.  Fitbit (the company) have made it so that only Fitbit devices can take part in their challenges.

Is it normal for steps imported from Fitbit to S Health to be distributed evenly across the entire day?

Fitbit does not provide the step count details (the peaks and troughs) to third party apps.  The step count is a total step count and hence the averaging of it through the day.

so far, - i've got tha app for some days now,- it's pretty worthless: it does not synchronize automatically and importes data in S health are not the same as those in fitbit.

Wasn't sure how to just compose a question so I just did a reply. I can't tell if it's working. Ultimately, I need it to sync to vitality for heal health insurance perks we get. It says it syncs but now since I've started using it vitality doesnt seem to be in the loop anymore.

It is importing 1800 calories for my fitbit steps instead of the say 500 or so I burned walking. Is there any way to only import step calories without importing a whole day? Samsung ends up double logging calories.

Seeing the same thing not syncing. I had limited success by turning off the sync and forcing an update and the Samsung health app picked up the data once. I ended up inadvertently paying for the fit and healthy app again so not happy overall right now.
