Yep. I went in for my 3rd ultrasound this afternoon with Kathy, my
mom and Gracie (Matt had to work). The only reason I got a 3rd one
was b/c of the gestational diabetes. Anyway, the nursing student
started checking me out for experience, before the real radiology
person came in. We told her there was a small chance the other one
was wrong, so she checked. And before she said a thing I saw
something that, well, didn't belong on a little girl. Before I could
get the word out, she was saying, "Um, that looks like something. Let
me get someone else in here." So, the real radiology tech came in,
and when the student checked again, she said, "Oh, I can see we're
having a boy." We all said, "WHAT?!?!" And, sure enough, it was
undeniable. My mother was elated, I was happy (in shock, but happy),
and Kathy was, well, she was ready for a little girl, I think. :D
Matt, of course, is thrilled. He was ready to tell me off for calling
him at work over and over, until I told him why. He said he hasn't
stopped smiling since I called. So, now we've got to find a new
name. And take back some clothes Kathy and I bought. Oh, and the
baby looked really healthy. Please check out the photos under
"Files." There's one of him actually kicking me. Big foot. Tee hee
hee.

Jodie,
Thanks for sharing, this is great!!! The ultra sound pictures are
wonderful. It will be fun to have another little guy running
around...as Gav tells me, "who wants a girl anyway":-)

My news for the week isn't nearly as exciting as having a baby boy...I
averted surgery so that's good. I busted my finger a few weeks back
and they wanted to do surgery...with two pins and I wouldn't be able
to use my hand for 6-12 weeks...Not a good option. I talked my way out
of it and just have a fun little brace on. It's handy because it still
allows me to type. The only bummer is my b-ball career for this season
is done.

This week has been bad for working out because my work schedule has
been crazy. We've had a ton of pediatric flu deaths in MN and the
major deadlines so I haven't been home but enough to sleep and get
ready for work again. I'm off to work again in a half hour but I got
my run in so that's more than I can say for the other days!

Have a great weekend!
Emily

Awww, Emily. I'm sorry about your finger. As far as working out this week,
I'm afraid I've let the team down. I had meetings or Dr. appts M-W, and
then I came down with something Thursday. More stuff on Friday, and today I
needed to spend with Gracie. Maybe I can fit in some yoga here in a little
while, as we are snowed out from the gym. Get better soon!

Jodie
