Kusanagi drops what he is doing in the kitchen and helps assist the wounded up the stairs, "What the hell happened?"

Pipestone will make sure they make it to the medical ward and him and Marilyn will work on treating their wounds. Pipestone will feel a little ting of helplessness when he discovers that Healer's Trance doesn't work, but will be more determined than ever that he get the best mundane care.
(Not sure which ST is running this. Ralph is on this list, but I'm not sure if Ben is.... Who's running this plot?)

Is a middle aged man named Lucas and his daughter Anna (looks around 10-11) - for those who haven't met her, there is something unnerving about Anna, she doesn't seem like a child at all (reactions, attitude and postures).

Lucas seems harried, worried and drained (as well as shot).  Anna seems perfectly content and calm, unless I say otherwise, she is pretty much expressionless.  Her clothes are burned some, and she is as well (2nd degree burns on about 40% of her body), but doesn't seem too hampered by, or to really notice her injuries much.

Pipestone starts first on Anna. She seems like she's going into shock. We make sure her wounds are clean and while I can't use magic on them, I'll make sure the bacteria in the room is low. I'll put her on fluids and give her some pain killers. 40 percent of her body on child is very dangerous so we will monitor her vitals. Her calm does concern Pipestone, but he assume maybe spooky can deal with the shock. Pipestone looks at Rai and thinks, and sometimes children are tougher than I realize.
Once she is stable and not going into shock I will look at skin graphs for her body. She is so small, it will be hard to find enough skin to graph her wounds. The graphs should be put in place within 24-36 hours.

I will ask for Marilyn and Rai deal with Lucas.

Kusanagi will help where necessary, even if that means flat out, 'Get out of the room!'

"Well if she is like you, then nothing I'm doing will hurt. If I don't treat her for shock, it could kill her. I'm going to treat her for shock until we can know better."
Pipestone looks up at Bones and walks a little farther away from the patient.
"These burns are over 40 percent of her body, the scarring is going to be horrible. With magic I could change that, but she need fluids to replace the ones that have been burned away and we need to help her body deal with this amount of shock to her system."
Pipestone leans in even closer and whispers this to Bones.
"The body can be a delicate. Sometimes children will get better only hours later to have a massive shut down of body organs. We are going to replace the fluids and help her reset her organ function naturally, but nothing may stop the cellular damage from initiating this response. Shock kills almost half of the people under 20 who come to emergency rooms. I'm used to cheating by being able to look at the cellular cause and repairing it, but I can't with her."
Pipestone returns to the patient.
"You hang in their young lady."

As a note, while it is a major burn, and not a light matter, it does depend on how deep it goes (second degree burns fall into two categories) The lesser ones don't need grafts and if treated properly aren't too dangerous.  The worse ones can get nasty (can actually progress to third), and infected (the biggest risk) - still not as bad as 3rd though.

2nd degree is like getting boiling water burn. Over 40 percent of the body, nearly half, this is a more serious matter. but Pipestone would treat it however it should be treated. Hard to say in a pretendy world on email! hehehe

Yeah, anything over 20-25% is very serious, and typically would be taken to a burn center, but if treated properly should be a minimum of scarring or need for grafts.

((sorry had to work...dang third shift))

Rai came in as soon as she was informed what was going on. A little frantic Whizzit tugging her pant leg in the training area, Rai knew his mannerisms at this point. Making her way to the medical area she didn't hesitate. She took a visual intake as she washed up, the man had been shot The girl burn rather badly. Pipestone already working on the girl she nodded as he said to tend to the man. Her healers trance did not work but she knew well enough what to do without it. She didn't bother with working her magic on him clearly something was blocking it.

Rai set to work pulling anesthetic out and laying the man back. "Please listen to me ok...focus on my voice alone. The child is in good care but you need to be looked after now." she spoke already cutting away clothes. She had set up the work station since she had been here. Everything ready to for a grab and go. Rai set to work tending to the mans wounds. Her voice calm as she numbed him so he could not feel any pain, and gave him enough muscle relaxer to keep him from moving. "The girl is she your daughter? What's her name?" she started to ask him questions as her hands worked. Keeping his mind distracted as she worked on his body. "She looks young how old is she?" Rai asks him as she works. Her mind trusting Pipestone with the girl for the moment.

I have been doing new research, some of which I have come across a new type of genetically modified skin cells that, when added to cultured skin substitutes, may help fight off potentially lethal infections in patients with severe burns." she says not looking up from her work. "They are skin cells that were genetically altered to produce higher levels of a protein known as human beta defensin 4 it kills more bacteria than normal skin cells" she noted something she found in her resent studies. 'One of the things on my list I wanted to speak to you about Pipestone. My understanding of some things is limited." she looks to the man she is working on, "But for now the girl is in good hands, and he is doing what is needed to keep her with you." she assured the man before returning to work, "Pipestone will start by scrubbing away the dead skin to leave new clean flesh that has potential to heal. Then  during the early healing period he will continually wrap the wound in dressings soaked in antimicrobial drugs. Keeping any infection that should arises at bay. From there we can see to helping the tissue heal as best we can and have minimal scaring." she spoke to the man explaining the process to assure him the girl was in good hands, or so she hopped...sometimes people just needed to be told what was really happening to be able to handle it. Also keeping his mind of the fact that she was working on him as well.
