The bridging wrapper would be installed as if it were a VST plugin, to any of the locations where Audacity looks for VST plugins: Audacity Manual. See the instructions for the wrapper for more details.
VST-bridge was not a 64-bit to 32-bit wrapper. JBridge is a 64-bit to 32-bit wrapper. That or similar is what you would use to make Audacity see a 64-bit VST effect. But even with that I doubt much of Sample Tank 3 would be usable in Audacity, if it showed up at all.
Yes if you can save from Sample Tank 3 as a WAV, Audacity could import the WAV. It could import MIDI too but you can only do simple cut and paste MIDI edits in Audacity, and cannot convert MIDI to audio.

Steve,
That is what I plan to do although I hoped that Audacity could handle it. Audacity has a less harsh learning curve.
The other problem is that SampleTank3 is VST3 64-bit. People are just learning how to deal with that.
My only goal is to compose, record with my midi controller keyboard using rich sound samples, as simply as possible.
Yes i know but when I want to change the volume from the inspector of CUBASE, it has no effect on the Sampletank volume.
Are there controlers to assign in CUBASE or in SAMPLETANK to control the volume from Cubase ? If yes, can you tell me how to assign it ?
You might need to explain a little bit more precise what you want to do or where your problem is (e.g. how you set up sampletank in your project, as an instrument track or from the rack), preferably with screenshots.
@skijumptoes has already provided you with pretty much all the options how you can achieve it, if you read the posts.
Has anyone started experiencing problems with ST4 crashing their DAWs? I have been having issues the last day or so: ST4 loads just fine, runs instruments just fine, but if I close the GUI, it crashes Cakewalk immediately. Does the same to Cubase 12 (and 11), Studio One 5 Artist and Reaper 6.
I'm running the most recent install of SampleTank 4, the most recent update of Cakewalk (and Cubase 12, Cubase 11 and the other DAWs also), on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I've already deleted the ST4 app and reinstalled it at least twice, and I went through the mind-numbing task of re-installing the libraries, too. None of it has helped.
Update: I initially said this happens when I close the GUI or remove the instrument, but actually it happens when the GUI window is closed. It does NOT happen if I minimize the GUI or just remove the instrument without closing the GUI. But if I click the upper right hand "X" and close the GUI window, every DAW crashes without fail...
I can't say I have had this issue with Sampletank 4.22 and CbB. (see my sig for my PC config)
Have you tried the VST2 variant? Does it also happen in stand alone?
Have you tried different sample rates, bit depths and sample buffer sizes?
I am going to assume you have updated the drivers for your Presonus Quantum 2632 (using website , not automatic updates) to no avail.
What graphics adapter are you using? Have you update it's display driver (using website , not automatic updates)?
If using the CPU's Intel UHD Graphics 630 then that driver is here:
-uhd-graphics-family/intel-uhd-graphics-630.html#drivers-software
FYI: I just checked ST 4 v4.2.2.0 VST3 in Studio One 5 and the latest CbB. All good, even created and saved a 4-part multi in S1, then opened it in CbB. Opened and closed the plugin GUI several times in each DAW without any crashes.
Assuming Windows 10 is up to date, also make sure that you have the necessary Windows Visual C++ redistributables installed. Sometimes when some of those are missing or not up to date strange things can happen due to application dependencies. More likely the most recent ones needed for current software, and the older ones for legacy software.
I contacted IK Multimedia support last night, and they got back to me today via email. They asked for a screenshot of the library paths in ST4. So I opened SampleTank 4 in standalone mode, clicked the gear icon and checked what path(s) SampleTank was showing for my sounds and libraries.
All my SampleTank libs are on a large 2GB WD Black drive, and I noticed that same path was listed twice. No idea how that happened, but when I deleted the duplicate path and then checked SampleTank in my DAWs, the problem went away. I can now close the GUI in Cubase (11 and 12), Cakewalk and Reaper, without the program crashing. I can delete SampleTank from a project, add it back, mess around with it, etc, and all seems fine.
At some point when I ran an update, or reinstalled ST4, I would often end up with two paths for ST4, and the ST3 path would disappear. Or something like that... and I would have to manually adjust it.
Saw this to late, but this was my initial thought when i read your post. Had the same issue and was searching for solutions, after i discovered the copy path, i tried to delete one of these and no problems since then.
I do think it's kind of odd that a library pathway issue could cause the app to crash, and bring my DAW with it. It's the last thing I'd have expected when trying to troubleshoot the issue. But it was the first thing the IK Multimedia support person asked me. Very helpful, but it makes me think they've seen this issue before...

IKM seems to lag behind other developers in quality control and proper beta testing before release. It's almost as if pre-release buyers of any new product are signing up for extended beta testing. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy their products (and I have most of them), but the affordability often comes at the expense of stability!
I still have issues with vst3 SampleTank it will crash Cakewalk everytime... I have already reported it to Cakewalk but the problem still persist .. I can crash Cakewalk without fail with vst3 SampleTank the VST2 works great no issues no crashing but vst3 for SampleTank and some other vsts crash CakeWalk all the time so I stick to vst2s right now.
I have to confirm this from personal experience.
In the time Sampletank 4 has been around, I have had two specific issues that were fixed (and acknowledged in the change logs) in subsequent updates.
One was to do with attack times at high velocities and the other was to do with pitch bend ranges not being what was actually dialled in.
Hi, I want to buy SampleTank, but I'm confused about all of that in-app purchases. There's no clean list of what is included in what version. For example, SampleTank for iPad is currently on sale for $9.99 and SampleTank Custom Shop is for free, but both of them have in-app purchase to buy all of the sounds for the same price. So I am paying $9.99 for what? That makes no sense If I still have to pay the same amount of money to have all of the sounds. They are even the same size of 1,6GB (SampleTank and SampleTank CS) which is weird if CS have 26 instruments and normal SampleTank have about 150 instruments. Secondly, does the "Buy all the sounds" or "SampleTank PRO" include Miroslav Philharmonik? Or that I have "Buy all the sounds" option in an app that normally cost about $20. That's crazy. I was thinking that by buying SampleTank app it is going to have all the sounds built-in. Summing up, I would like to know what are the differences between SampleTank CS, SampleTank and SampleTank PRO. Thanks for the help and sorry if my grammar isn't correct or something, but I'm not very good in English I hope you understand what I meant!
SampleTank comes with around 145 sounds. SampleTank CS (free) is fully-functional to try all the features, but only has 23 or so sounds. The in-app purchase/upgrade in CS unlocks the rest of the 122 sounds.
@asia many like SampleTank, but I offer a different solution... Beathawk and its acoustic sounds, some iSymphonic, Thumbjam And Thor, if you insist on ST try the Miroslav 1 as a cheaper but probably equally good alternative ( and has percipussion whereas 2 does not) To me the Miroslav should have Miroslav Vitous turning over in his bed. Check thesoundtestroom for Beathawk acoustics, especially orchestras and percussion. I looked forward to Miroslav 2 with great desire and got a refund, the first and only time. You are looking at an $100 investment with the percussion added.
Beathawk + 2 sound packs around $30 iSymphonic + 2 packs $40, Thumbjam for best solo trumpet, cello, violin, good sax, trombone, viola and more $9, Thor with 1000 very malleable sounds $10 = $90
Get the b16i (? App) for less than $10, get the great Salamander pianos plus a ton of free sound fonts, is there any comparison? Plus ST's graphics are lousy in my opinion and that stuff counts,
In my book.
I imported a Beethoven Symphony into Cubasis which needs strings, woodwinds, trumpet and tympani. Cubasis properly assigned all the parts and the music played instantly but needed better sounds on many of the parts.
So, I added iSymphonic as an AU instrument, selected legato strings and assigned it to one of the string parts in Cubasis. Much more realistic. To cover all these instruments I'd have to increase my investment in iSymphonic by about $40-60. Getting just the tympani for example would require $20 but maybe another score would need the other extras. It appears the only way to use iSymphonic across the whole project would be to make a MIDI assignment and then freeze that track and have a permanent audio track so I could re-assign iSymphonic to another track in the project. Repeat until I have a pretty damn good orchestra.
