Subject: IOD Worlds -- message to Fleet Captains
Fleet Captains,
This is an update regarding the 2023 Class Championship.
Nantucket IOD Fleet Association (“NIODFA”), led by fleet captain Pierre Crosby, has stepped forward to host the Worlds. Racing is planned to begin Sunday, September 10, and conclude Friday, September 15. Competitors should plan to arrive on Nantucket on Saturday September 9th, and plan to depart on Saturday September 16th.
The regatta will follow the format and procedures outlined in the IOD Championship Regulations. Eleven invitations will be extended to include each of the ten fleets that sailed a qualifier in 2022, plus defending champion Jonathan Farrar. No other invitations are anticipated.
The Nantucket fleet will endeavor to arrange accomodations in homes of local hosts, as needed. Availability may be limited, and is not yet confirmed.
NOR is in progress, with distribution intended in late February. Meanwhile we will respond to questions, and provide informal updates.
Regards,
Chris Gould, regatta chair
