We are already hard at work preparing for the 2025 Women's Invitational, which will take place on Saturday September 6 and Sunday September 7* at Marblehead's Eastern Yacht Club. This email announces that the Notice of Race and the Application for the 2025 Event have been posted and can be downloaded at www.marbleheadiod.com/womens2025.

We anticipate that interest in the event will increase this year - we have already received unsolicited inquiries - and we look forward to assembling the most competitive field that we can, one that will again include experienced IOD sailors as well as newcomers to the boat.

We hope that you will encourage the sailors in your fleets to put together a team and apply to be a part of the 2025 regatta. It was a wonderful event in 2024, and we are looking forward to maintaining our momentum.

*Unfortunately, the weekend of the Women's Invitational coincides with the opening weekend of the 2025 IOD World Championship in Northeast Harbor.  The Women's Invite dates were set long ago, before the Worlds dates were known. Marblehead Race scheduling is very complicated -- the 2026 Women's Invitational is already on the books, and soon we will have to schedule the 2027 regatta --  and although we explored options, we could not move the 2025 Women's Invite.  We are proceeding with the event anyway, as it is fundamentally an outreach event for the Class, attracting not just "IOD regulars" but talented female sailors from up and down the east coast.  We understand the scheduling is complicated, but we hope that you will field a team...
