to Fish Cheeks
The conflict of the story Fish Cheeks is that a Chinese girl named Amy
feels as if the Ministers family won't like the way that her family
does things on Christmas Eve. Once she finds out that her family has
invited over the Ministers family for dinner Amy cries for she feels
that her family will embarrass her by the way that they eat along
with their table manners since they are not American. Amy is also
afraid that the Ministers son Robert will not like her any more once
he comes over for Christmas Eve dinner. Once the Ministers family
comes over for dinner they think that Amy's family is strange and
afterwards Amy becomes ashamed of her family culture, wishing that she
was like other American girls. Though Amy is worried about her crush
not liking her anymore she should just be proud of who she is and what
type of culture she has, for she is unique and should be thankful for
her culture.
