POINT OF VIEW is based around WHO is telling the story.

Someone is always between the reader and the action of the story. That someone is telling the story from his or her own point of view. This angle of vision, the point of view from which the people, events, and details of a story are viewed is important to consider when reading a story. In short fiction, who tells the story and how it is told are critical. The tone and feel of the story, and even its meaning, can change radically depending on who is telling the story and their view of the setting, conflict, other characters and how the story is resolved.

Click here for more information on POINT OF VIEW.

There are 3 main Points of View (there are others - but we will focus on these three for now).

For this discussion post respond to the following:
  1. Who is telling the story?
  2. What point of view is the story told from?
  3. How does this point of view change other elements (plot, conflict, other characters, setting, resolution) of the story? Why do you think this? Give examples.
Respond to another person's post by synthesizing what they wrote for answer #3. Do you agree? Disagree? You could ask clarifying questions, or elaborate on one of their ideas.

The story Fish Cheeks is told by Amy. The point of view is 1st person,
I think this because she uses words like I. This point of view changes
the story because it shows the story from Amy's point of view, this
changes it because it shows how she feels about the dinner and how she
got upset. If it were from her fathers point of view for example it
would probably be about how the food was tasty

The story has been told from Amys point of view witch is fist persons point of view. The story commonly uses I  that is why it is in first person and the point of view affects the emotions of the character and how the story is written the point of view from Amy makes the story sadder but then proud toward the end. That is the point of view of the story.

This story is being told by the main character of the story Amy. This
is told in first person point of view. I think this because the author
uses word like i, he, she, ect.

The person that is telling the story is Amy. the point of view the
story is being told in is 1st person because she uses "I". The point
of view changes the other elements because she is telling only telling
what she thought.

In the story Fish Cheeks I think the point of view in the story is 1st
person because the young girl Amy talks about herself and what she did
for most part of the story. For example , she talks about how much she
likes the boy Robert and how embarrassed she is when he comes over for
Christmas dinner.

This story is told by Amy and is told in first person. this changes the story by her telling the truth of how she felt because no one knows how she felt that night like she does. If someone else wrote this the story would have been told way different. for example if her guests told the story they would talk about how different the culture is from the american culture.

The point of view for fish cheeks is first person because it uses I
statements and it is told by Amy.
