Hi fish-fans,

My training is going well (http://greataussiefish.blogspot.com.au/) but I have two technical problems that I would like some advice on:

1. I can't see my light bridge on my videos. It looks obvious to me during training, but maybe it is not. What sort of lights are people using? I have a single globe LED but it does not seem to cut it.

2. My tank is Perspex or similar and I find it creates a lot of viewing distortion - the fish looks either closer or further away than it is, which makes it hard to judge its exact location. Do people have this problem with glass tanks? I need to upgrade my 40 l tank eventually to a bigger one.

Thanks,

Nicole

Hi, Nicole ~

Glad your fishes are doing well in school! Love your blog.

These are the lights that I use as "clickers":     http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I7OJHA/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The colors show up well on video, and they give one the capability to assign a different colored bridge to individual fish - very helpful in my two-fish tanks. I mount the lights on stands constructed of a dowel and a wood base, so that I don't have to hold the light the whole time I'm training.

I have always had glass tanks. There's almost no visual distortion, and I find it helpful to have the entire tank top open. Acrylic tanks always seem to have most of the top closed off, leaving only a small window for putting in training equipment, feeding wand, etc. Glass tanks are way cheaper, too. They are heavy, though!
