Many persons have aquarium UV Sterilizers and even more have aquarium UV Clarifiers (many who UV Clarifiers think they have a Sterilizer, but if purchased on eBay, Amazon, etc for under $50, likely you do not)

Either way, you need to change the bulb/lamp every six months for optimum performance.

Even more importantly, you need to use a true HO low pressure UV bulb. These have a UVC output of 35% while the more commonly sold medium pressure UV bulbs sold only have as little as 7% UVC output.
So if the replacement bulb is less than $15, likely it is a low output UV bulb and will make your UV Sterilizer less effective and your UV Clarifier barely helpful for just clarification
