Further to my email below we are very excited to be able to confirm the entry process for the Lorne to Lorne on November 17th.
Please click on the link below and follow the process, its very simple. You will notice that we are donating all of the funds (after direct costs are covered) to the Lorne hospital and Otway Health. The direct costs will be minimal and only be for items such as insurance and permits. Our event is run by solely by volunteers.
We are very keen to contribute positively to our local community and for the GORCs to continue leading the way with responsible and safe cycling.
If you are keen to join in please do not hesitate. There has been a lot of interest behind the scenes and there are limited spots

Dear GORCs,
Further to previous discussions with many of you, we are pleased to confirm we will be conducting a cycling event this year. A formal announcement, including the name of the event will be made in due course, but at this stage you can plan with the following:-
Date : 17th November, 2018
Start/Finish : Lorne
Course : The Loop
Format : Teams of six, departing in intervals to be determined and travelling anti-clockwise around the AGGF Loop
As usual, the event is open to all GORC Inc. members and friends. A couple of important points to note :-
- We are working with all stakeholders to ensure the event is fully sanctioned and permitted. This includes Vicroads, Colac Otway Shire, Victoria Police, Lorne Events Committee (CIAC), Ambulance and Surf Coast Council.
- The event will be fully insured.
- Given we are a non-profit organisation and to enhance our reputation as contributing members of the Great Ocean Road community, we intend to donate 100% of surplus funds from the event to The Lorne Hospital and Otway Health (Apollo Bay).
We plan to open for entries in late July (with an early bird option for GORC members) with an official unveiling of the event name and logo. In the meantime, feel free to register your interest with me. Given we missed last year, we expect there will be a lot of keen and eager GORCs and friends, ready to enjoy a great day out in the place we love most.
