Look at China today in this 21st century. She is the greatest industrial power in the world.

Reasons :

Competition driven Capitalists from Capitalist USA have invested heavily in China getting cheaper, better products.

Ditto with the Capitalists from the Social Democracies of Europe who're tired of their "free loading socialist" workers, that are the world champions at complaining & not working ( European economies are most uncompetitive).

Instead of rushing over to the Phils. for our world reknowned hospitality, capitalists around the world have preferred China because our " corruption " is worthy of the world championship.

Prediction ?

Capitalists from China will soon need to be more competitive & start taking their factories to dirt poor Africa ( or whomever solves their corruption problems first - Philippines are you listening ? )

You are so full of shit. The very Chinese language disproves your BS. The language is built from basic components involving compiling other words together to obtain another.

Filipinos and Chinese Compared

Let’s face it. We are a nation of believers. China has been, for thousands of years, and still is, a nation of unbelievers.

Look at China today in this 21st century. She is the greatest industrial power in the world.

Listen to Lin Yutang, the author of some 35 books.

In his Importance of Living, simply wrote: “For the Chinese the end of life lies not in life after death, for the  idea that we live in order to die, as taught by Christianity, is incomprehensible; nor in Nirvana, for that is too metaphysical; nor in the satisfaction of accomplishment, for that is too vainglorious; nor yet in progress for progress’s sake, for that is meaningless. The true end, the Chinese have decided in a singular clear manner, lies in the enjoyment of a simple life, especially the family life, and  in harmonious social relationships . . .  There is no doubt that the Chinese are in love with life, in love with this earth, and will not forsake it for an invisible heaven. They are in love with life, which is sad, and yet so beautiful, and in which moments of happiness  are precious because they are so transient.”

Well, let us now look at ourselves as Filipinos

and as a nation of faithful believers in the teachings

of Christianity since 400 years ago. We are today only

famous as the Sick Man of Asia. We Filipinos are in

love not with our country, but in love only with divinity up there while we also love even more corruption as a way of life down here. In fact, we love corruption not because it is transient, but precisely because it is omniscient.

In our schools, colleges, and universities, we are

still educated to believe that there is a better life to come but only after we are dead! And we Filipinos, faithfully, still believe such a holy biblical baloney.

As long as those people remain squashed as they are, those factories are not going anywhere. There was a time when a Belarus tractor was an oddity here in US. Then they were common. They are become oddity again because the Ukrainian factories are not competitive enough. Communism was all that kept Capitalism in check.  What happens in a pitched battle?

Dennis:  What happens in a pitched battle?

Response:  Yeah what happens when there is a call to war and nobody comes?  What happens when Canada and Sweden lets them all in?  What happens when church bells ring and the pews remain empty?  What happens when no one comes to Walmart?  What happens when hospitals and doctors say to one another:  “the hell with insurance and profits and big pharma.  Let’s make people well”.  This will all come to pass.

Because these are causes deeply loved by the left.  And history is a chronicle of victory, after victory by the left over the right.  Every right human beings have today are rights fought for and won by the left.  Without a single exception.  Every human right we hold and now take for granted was won by the left.  The right has always been doomed to fail.

What???? "This will all come to pass?" you say?

Mr. Gimenez, -- In the meantime, what? What? We will lie supinely with bated breath to see the fulfillment of your prophecy?

You want to us to go the way your forecast wants us to go?  Your forecasted future is the dead past of Russian, Chinese socialist economics. You want the world to return to the past.

Capitalism is self-sustaining! What it is doing in relation to China is but a way of sustaining capitalism.  It is not commmitting suicide. On the other hand,  it is helping China sell labor and then sell the finished or semi-finished products to the West.  And it is a symbiotic relationship.  China just realized and is practicing what Deng Xiao Ping proclaimed - I don't care if the cat is black or white as long as it catches mice.  So what happened? The Chinese threw away Mao's Red Book and Al Ghadafi's Green Book out of the window and started buying U.S. Treasury Notes and using H.K.'s stock exchange.  What a turn-around --- so, around Hongkong have sprung big business - after all the Chinese learned and practiced vending and trading and cornerstores (from which Walmart stores grew up) thousand of years ago.  They are returning to their trading roots!!! in a modern way care of Walmart a trading partner now.

And you want them to revert to the Red Guards era? "Everyone to the plant and harvest the fields! the ablebodied to serve the army! those who do not conform, to the prisons!

You are looking backwars, backwards, backwards to the starving masses, the cruel past. More Chinese are smiling now because they have food on the tables, restaurants to go to, fashion, banks, real estate, businesses for foreigners and tourists. jobs. Yeah, jobs!

You are just an armchair general, talking like one, with blindfolds on.

I am talking as one who visits China every year for the last four years.  I am talking as someone who has a son working in Beijing as a marketing manager of a European firm for the last 5 years.  (He was a torch bearer in the last Olympics.)

Are you sure you know what you are talking about so that you are qualified to talk about the future of Chinese economics vis-a-vis U.S. economics.  What are the sources of your talking points - the the Oracle at Dephi?

We now come to Lin Yu Tang and his books and principles.

We also come now to the principles of Atheistm

I do not discount them.  They are books to read and learn from.  But we just have to use discernment and exercise priorities.

Biblical principles have been the foundation of this civilization which has lasted for more than 2000 years.  Its central figure is not Lin Yu Tang, or Stalin or Karl Marx or Fidel Castro or Mao Tse Tung or Danding Gimenes or Brtrand Russel.  It is Jesus Christ.

Until you sweep this civilization off the earth, and until that day comes that you succeed is expunging from the hearts of believers the Judeo-Christian principles on which the engine of this civilization runs, until you have arrived at that stage where you KNOW IT ALL, then and only then should you insist that you are right.

About the U.S.A. as a repubic.   John Locke talks about Nature's laws and Nature's God.  Another founding father talked about how Man depends absolutely upon his Maker and to live righteously (more than Lin Yu Tang's Importance of Living), Man should conform to his Maker's will. Others for the first time in the history of the world said, Men are created equal. Note the word "created".  Lincoln bet the republic on this principle at a very high cost.

We are not a Christian nation, yes - but we are a nation founded on the belief of God. The separation of Church and State is there because of the fallen nature of man which also gives us the checks and balances needed to make sense of the Separation of Powers - political and/or religious.   There  too is the principle tht we shall have equal protection under the law because No man (even the highest political or religious authority or the wealthiest) shall be regarded as above the law.  It all makes sense, this Democracy.  It works this way and in no other way.  It may accomodate socialism, even a bit of communism as a club, a reading club but not in government.  It even accomodates social programs, social justice or social security systems, The four freedoms are guaranteed. If then so guaranteed, you can not force down our throats your doctrine that there is no God.  You would be violating and violating one of our freedoms, to worship, the freedom of religion., under the gise of freedom of speech.  I don't believe in religion myself becuse I have a one-to-one relationship with the triune God, but i am not about to demolish churches and dole out amnesia to believers and then amnesty to violators of this freedom to worship.  Let us alone, please.  We are happy in our homes and churches - as happy as you are in your homes and ...your homes. The Indians are happy to bow to several gods. The Buddhists are happy to bow the rememberance of Gautama's techings. The Jews are happy to serve only Jehovah. The Muslims are happy to pray 5 times a day and wish their prophet "May peace be upon him" every time that they  mention his name. Others are happy to worship their Hollywood idoes. Others, their bank accounts, their cars, their yatchs. The Hindus have a saying, "I you get a stone from the garden and put it on your alter, it shall become your God.  There you have but an infinitestimal word on the subject you wish you never started to dispute (Poverty in the Phiippines, let us not forget this) na dyou wnt to overturn the whole of civiization with just a sentence There is no God.  Man, you got Billions of us surrounded with your plattoon.

Somewhere in an email I was asked to read principles of atheism.

Plese do not use God in your ID or in your statements.  It only reinforces our belief that he exists.  Coming now to your principles, I must say that reading them requires of me to be a PhD.  Try preaching those to peole who only grade school education or even a high school education.  They will scratch their heads before they finish the first sentence.

Compare that now to the 10 commandments hewn on stone tablets.

1. One God
2. No other God.
3. Honor God.
4. Rest one day a week
5. Honor parents
6. Kill not.
7. Steal not.
8. Lie not.
9. Covet not
10. Envy not

The Jesus came.  He said, Love God. Love Neighbor, Preach me.

There are no vowels in written Armaic or Hebrew.  My source is the book "Genesis of Genesis" by Benjamin Wisner Bacon written in 1891 and published 1893, London.

We now come to why some people know and believe God exists.

They only pray and pray - asking - but not talking to God.  They twist God's arms, so to speak, demanding "I want this", not "I need this" andGod answers in his time and space and place.  If you treat God as a child looks up to a Dad, the results as you know will be different.

We have different of levesl of learning, grade school, high school, college, post grduate, further studies and further focused specialized studies and research.  I is had for me to believe than if you are expelled from High School because you asked questios which you could answer had you just waited to go to college, you could tackle question like wiping off the present civilization to conform to your understanding and belief that there is no God.

I could take up with you hundreds and hundreds of questions about the above, but not thousands of them, because I have to eat and sleep and spend tim with  my wife who is already looking at me with frustration in her eyes while I am typing this reply.

Suffice it to say, that if yoiu are one with God and you are blessed to see a sign that he is there (he can not show himself otherwise you would be like going into the sun, you would be bruned to a crisp, so he appears in many ways, through being born as a human being, through books, through visions, or in the poetic languge of an author:

   Listen.

The words to the next song you hear. The informtion in the next article you read.  The story line of the next movie
you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet.  Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear -- all these devices are Mine; all thse avenues are open to Me.  I will speak to you if you will listen. I wll come to you if you will invite Me.  I will show you then that Ihave always been there. Always.

I stories to narrate, some mine, some others, but all of them pointing to the One.

Meantime, we will just pray for you whether you believe in the God we pray for or not.  Somehow, if it is his will, he will turn you around miraculously  After knowledge derived from your parents' lap or knees, there is grade shool, then highschool, then college for formal logic, ontology, etc, then post-graduate, research, then experience, then history, then other people's experiences, the wisdom, (Solomon was able to solve the issue of motherhood without waiting for DNA tests which would come 2 000 years later), then insights, then "eureka moments", then prodigy knowledge, then genius knowledge, then transcendent knowledge, then samadhi, then enlightenment, then answers to prayers, then miracles, then revelations.  We have to climb a taller ladder each time we reach a certain level of certitude  to reach the unknowable.

But that's another email from now.  My wife is glaring at me so we can have brunch.  Man - you know what I mean.

Lionel,

Not being a prophet I cannot lay claim to any prophecy.  I can only say that history is a chronicle of defeat after defeat of rightwing ideology.  Society has always moved inexorably leftwards, shedding ideologies of the right one by one.  Once lost, never to return.

You threw in too many ideas to counter this simple one in an effort to cloud a clear view of something that is so true and so natural.  That idea is simple.  Slowly but surely the powerful will shed their power to the poor and powerless if only by dint of their greater numbers and the intellectual superiority of their positions.  For example, universal free education for every child is a far superior concept to education only for children of those who can afford it.  This latter concept had to lose out.  Universal healthcare is a superior concept to good healthcare only for those who can afford it.  The latter concept also had to lose out.

Every social right humanity has today was fought for by the “left” against forces from the “right”.  The “right” has lost every fight.  Think about it.  Every one.  Without exception.

I liken it to tectonic movement between two plates.  One plate is moving leftward versus another.  There are periods of stability when there appears to be nothing happening.  But something is happening miles down as the leftward-moving plate continues to press its leftward movement and is held in check as the forces are locked.  Pressure builds and eventually snaps the rocks underground with a leftward jolt that moves the plate two feet in one huge tectonic movement we call an earthquake.

You guys from the right are angered by this idea that you know to be true.  You are in the wrong side of history.  Women’s rights will only get deeper and better.  Civil rights will only get deeper and better.  Human rights will only get deeper and better.  Voting rights will only get deeper and better.  You cannot stop it anymore than you can stop the earth from moving when the time to move comes.

Universal free education for every child is a much superior concept to education only for children of those who can afford it

Universal healthcare is a superior concept to good healthcare only for those who can afford it.

A society of freemen and women is better than one that is half slave and half free.

A society where everyone has the right to vote is better than one where only the white or only men can vote.

A society that takes care of providing their children clean air and clean water is better than one that provides industry the right to dirty our air and water.

A society where everyone has the same opportunity regardless of the color of their skin is better than one that will provide fewer opportunities to those of a different color.

A society that will not march to war unless attacked is much better than a society that will march to war after war after war on the pretext that they are preventing any possibility, no matter how remote, of being attacked.

A society based on free expression is better than one that throttles it.

A society ruled by normal laymen is better than one ruled by abnormal priests.

A society ruled by its citizens is better than a society ruled by a king or a pope.

Every one of these “better societies” got better because the left fought for the “better part” against the right who fought for the worst.
