Message from Amy

Last Sunday, thirty-five kids gathered in the chapel to create and play our Life-sized Game. We started by considering what we need to know when we are making friends. Everyone wrote special question cards to get to know one another better. Here are some examples of our cards: “How old are you?” “What is your worst fear?” “What makes you happy?” “Did you ever see a real bear?”

Using cardboard squares, we set-up our game board in the chapel and using a big die we moved along the path. It was so much fun that we will have to play again! Next time, instead of a straight path, a circle with more places to “START” will allow more people to play at once. Thanks to all the kids, teens and adults for coming to play!

“To Know and to Be Known” is the title of my sermon this Sunday, October 18th. I look forward to sharing about my background and why religious community is so important.

Peace,
Amy

Milldam Play Yard Guidelines:
Just a friendly reminder that the play yard equipment belongs to Milldam Nursery School and is designed for young children. They have graciously allowed us to use the playground on Sunday mornings weather permitting. The play yard will be opened on Sunday mornings and closed by noon. Our RE program is held from 9:45 am-11:15 am. RE teachers, staff and teen assistants will monitor the playground during class time for children up to 2nd grade. During coffee hour, parents and guardians are asked to supervise their children on the playground. Children who are above 8 years old are not allowed on the playground as the equipment is designed for early childhood education. Thanks!
