Update from the Religious Educator Search Team

The search for our new Religious Educator is under way! The members of the Religious Educator Search Team (Howard Dana, Lora Venesy, Leslie Pelton, Suzanne Foley, Eric Moore and Jeff Brainerd) met on Saturday, May 9 to kick off the search process. So far five candidates from various geographical regions have indicated interest: 3 women, 2 men, 2 ministers, 2 DREs and 1 seminarian. Interviews are being scheduled for the end of May and the beginning of June. If you have any questions about the search process, feel free to reach out to any of us. A member of the search team will be available at the RE table during coffee hours throughout the spring.

 

Below is the covenant of the search team, the set of principles that will guide our work together:

 

Listen to each other

Be honest, open and brave

Maintain confidentiality of personnel matters

Maintain transparency of the process

Speak with one voice

Respect the ethics of the search

Keep the First Parish mission and community in mind

Remember who we are serving

Respect others’ views

Please join us for a vespers service filled with original songs and story from Anna Huckabee Tull, and poetry and meditations from Bethany Lowe. We'll sing, we'll listen, and we'll have time for reflection. All are welcome! We will start right at 7:30 p.m.

9:50 a.m. – Regular Class, Babies-Preschool   

        10:00 a.m. – Service  

Kindergarten – Begin in the Sanctuary, dismissed to RE in the lower level classrooms        

1st Grade - Begin in the Sanctuary, dismissed to RE in the lower level classrooms         

2nd Grade – Begin in the Sanctuary, dismissed to the Emerson Room

3rd Grade – Begin in the Sanctuary, dismissed to the Emerson Room        

4th Grade – Begin in the Sanctuary and dismissed to RE in the Bulkeley Room, released to coffee hour        

5th Grade – Begin in the Sanctuary and dismissed to RE in the Brooks Room, released to coffee hour        

6th Grade – Begin in the Sanctuary and dismissed to RE in the Wright Tavern 

7th Grade - Neighboring Faiths – Classroom Sunday 9:00 – 9:55 a.m.  and attend Youth Service together at 10:00 a.m.
