School Supplies for Haiti
First Churches of Northampton
David Entin, Judy Sherman, Carol Judd and Pauline Bassett will be traveling to Haiti on 1/3/13 and returning 1/11/13. They will again visit St. Andres School which is run by CONASPEH. The earthquake in 2010 completely destroyed the building, and the 600 students met under tents until their new school was recently completed. Once again First Churches will provide the children with school kits.
Donations will be collected on Sunday 12/2 but will be welcome any time through 12/20/12. Pauline will provide the sports bags that hold the school supplies. Below are the items each kit will contain.
You can donate the items for a kit or a pack of one (or more) of the items:
Three 70-count spiral notebooks or one notebook w/ 200-210 pages (no loose-leaf paper)
One 12” (30cm) ruler
One hand-held pencil sharpener
One large eraser
Six new pencils w/ erasers
One box of 24 crayons
2 pens
By placing the contents in the bags we will be sure that the supplies are distributed fairly and equitably among the children.
