TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

The Hampshire County Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) will take place on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012. This is a worldwide event that reflects on the loss of lives of transgender women and men due to ignorance and violence. The event begins at 5:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Northampton and Florence at 220 Main St. in downtown Northampton on the lawn. We will process with a candle lit vigil through downtown to the First Churches where there will be a program of music and reflection from 6-7 PM followed by a social. Our guests include Brianna Harris, Kai Devlin, Mayor David Narkewicz, and the Gay Men's Chorus. We will also have a tribute to the life of local civil rights activist Samantha Cornell. If you're interested in coming, dress for outdoor weather. Potluck items are welcome.
