December 2 – First Sunday of Advent Service at 4:00 PM!
Hanging of the Greens, Light Supper and Carols
Our annual tradition of hanging the greens will continue, but with a twist this year. Last year the annual Hot Chocolate Run fund raiser for Safe Passages moved to Sunday morning at 10 AM, taking over the downtown with 6000 participants, who will be passing by our church. Rather than fighting the traffic, we are moving Sunday worship to 4:00 PM. We will light the first Advent Candle, celebrate the hanging of the greens, and share communion in a multi-generational service. After worship, we will share a light meal at 5:00 PM and sing carols in the Parlor. Festivities will finish by 6:30 PM for those who want to attend the Smith College lessons in carols. We hope this new twist will help us maintain as many of our beloved traditions as possible, while accommodating the Hot Chocolate Run.
