worship bits before I go

Dear All,

Just a few things before I fly off.

I assume someone will take care of setting up the chancel for the three Sundays I'm gone. Sometimes the building staff has put the furniture in place and I just adjust it and then put out things on the communion table. Other weeks, not much has been done.

I had ordered some additional rectangular tablecloths for the communion table, some of which are still in their packages in the Deacon's closet. Feel free to open and use those. There is a stack of fabrics on the lower shelf that may need to be checked for candle wax before they are used (from the candle-lighting ritual last Sunday). I didn't have time to sort through those to see what needed attention.

Tefari is on deck for getting slides ready for Sunday mornings. Mary Hvistendahl has volunteered to proofread slides (she just offered! woohoo!) but we're still getting a system going with her and Tefari, so I don't know when that will actually be in place. Might be good for someone to check song words and there will need to be some consultation on announcement slides.

For Lent, it would be good to get articles up soon about Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday. I sent potential articles over the weekend. Also would be good to get a description of the theme (that would also be helpful for me to develop some graphics.)

We've got save the dates for Annual Meeting, but it would be good to let folks know how we're handling the setup/logistics of that meeting since our space is different.

On past trips, I've been able to keep the website updated, and I expect I will be doing that while I'm gone, but I shouldn't be counted on the respond very quickly to communications.
