I've shared a map with you called First Warn Storm Spotters:

I made a google map that is not public that we can place our location and
contact information. You don;t have to put this right on your house just
your town or as close as you feel comfortable with.

I was talking to a couple others and we were not sure how to edit the map.
Just use the link from Brad, Log in, then put your address in the Find Address
at the top. It should create a mark on the map.  Right click on the mark and
the go to properties.  It will then allow you to put in some basic information
and allow you to change the mark if you wish.

Thanks for the how-to on the pinpointing of your location on the first warn spotter's map. Isn't technology great? We wrestled with the map ever since Brad put his email out.

I am having difficulty putting my information on this map. Where can I get

Earl, I had an email this morning from a guy living in Davis Lake. He said to go to the
map and up at the top, there is a place to put your address. I had to play around with it
and found that it's best to put your call sign in and then your address on the same line.
What will happen is that a pin will be put on your address and it will list you under the
first warn spotters group. Remember to use the map for the spotter group.

Hi Chris,

I tried that and it put the symbol at the east baptist church where the
club meets and listed G4GKK and Myself as ham of the year. I spent several
hours playing around with the map and google editing and got nowhere.

Earl,
   I think the purpose of the map, was so that WCNC would
be able to look for spotters in a particular part of town to
verify any severe weather in that area.  As an fyi, the map is only
available to those of us that are in the Skywarn group. I will try
for better instructions

1 - open the map from the link and make sure you are logged in
    using your email address from First Warn Google Group.

2 - put in the address - street and city and click on search

3 -  It should now have a marker to that address and opened a balloon
      window.  Click on Edit if you want move the marker and do not
      want it to point to your exact address.  If you move it, click on the
      lower back link in the window.
4 - then click on the 'save to my maps' link and save it to the 'First Warn
       Storm Spotters.'
5 -  It should open another balloon.  Some are changing the Title to their call
      sign.  Also enter any description.  Such as phone number, City, or in my
      case, I entered the subdivision.  You can also click on the icon and change
      the icon for the marker.  Then click on OK

6 - You are still in the edit mode. To exit and save, Click on the "Done" button
      in the left margin.

7 - to make any changes to your information. Click on the "Edit" button.  Right
      click on your Icon and select properties.   Then "Done" when finished.

putting the right information in and saving it. I think the original input
