Dear Greet students,

Tonight we reviewed ch. 16 on Present Active Indicative verbs, then pressed on to ch. 17 on “contract verbs.” This chapter explained in further detail how the vowels of present and imperfect verbs behave.

Greek vowel combinations often like to “contract” to create simpler, smoother sounds instead of longer, clunky vowel combinations. For example, Greek will change oo into ou.

We read through ch. 17 and also referred to a valuable chart in the Appendix p. 340 (a great reference, but don’t try to memorize this chart!)

Your homework for next week:

Ch. 17 Parsing 1-5

Warmups a-b

Translation 1-2

Talk to you next week!

Thanks,

Pastor Stephen
