Dear Greek Students,
Tonight, we reviewed ch. 18 on Present Middle/Passive Indicative verbs and then studied ch. 19 on Future Active and Middle verbs. Future tense verbs are future in meaning (“I shall go,” “you will read,” “he will eat”). They looks quite similar to the present tense, except they add the tense formative s after the verb stem.
We also learned that for verbs, the lexicon (starting on p. 413) lists a total of six forms: present active indicative (the lexical form), future active indicative, 1st aorist active indicative, perfect active indicative, perfect passive indicative, and 1st aorist passive indicative.
Homework for next week:
Ch. 19 Parsing 1-4; Warmup a-d, Translation 1-2
We’ll probably only be able to meet twice more, as I will be teaching a couple pastoral ministry classes this fall at Cal Baptist University and will be doing some prep work starting in August. Thanks for your support and participation in this class! See you next week.
Thanks,
Pastor Stephen
