Hello all,
Please help your little one to study about the lesson summary each Sunday. Help them to memorize the prayers you get by email. Your help
and cooperation is of utmost importance in preparing them to receive
our savior worthily.

Baptism
We talked about the Sacrament of Baptism in today's class. In Baptism we are born again of water and Spirit. During Baptism we also receive confirmation and the Holy Eucharist and together they are called the Sacraments of initiation. The Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a life long journey of commitment and discipleship. Due to sins of our parents, all of us are born in sin. We call this sinful state "Original sin". In Baptism we become children of God and are no longer slaves of sin. In Baptism we are set free from sin and begin our life in Jesus. So Baptism is an entrance to Christian life. The meaning of Baptism is immersion or bath. We are dead to the sins and born to eternal life.

Baptism is the Sacrament that sets us free from original and actual sin, if any, and makes us children of God, members of the church and heirs to heaven.

Fruits of Baptism
Sets us free from sin
Gives us divine life
Makes us children of God
Makes us members of church (Members of the Body of Christ)
Make us heirs to heaven.

Isn't Baptism wonderful? It makes a clean sweep of everything.  Sin and its consequences disappear when God comes to our soul, just as darkness disappears when the light is turned on.

The point to be emphasized, and never to be forgotten, is that we are potentially in heaven the moment we are baptized.
