Monthly Report for September, 2010
==================================
Members and advisers,
This is a report of work in progress, completed work, and financial
statements of The Fireworks Project for the month of September, 2010.
I apologize for releasing this report so much later than usual. I have
been tied up tight in freelancing work for the last 6 weeks or so and
just got most of it unwound this past weekend.
Finances

There were no changes to our financial status in September.
Work In Progress
----------------
I'm removing the Work In Progress part of the monthly report, which
will be replaced by a web application on our website. I'll post it on
our Basecamp mailing list as soon as it is ready in a day or two.
Completed Work

* I have also built a mind map for continued work filling in the
details of our business model.

(website)
* Mike was on the phone again with the Trademark Office tying up some
loose ends for our logo and company name. (It looks promising.)
* But, the big one that everyone needs to sit up and notice this month
is Shawn's work on a package repositoryserver. This project represents
what I believe will be the future of web applications. We are entering
an era where large portions of applications will be installed locally
on client devices rather than fully hosted on servers. In fact, we are
already experiencing this shift away from hosted applications with the
proliferation of apps for mobile devices. Unfortunately installed
applications have been boxed into walled gardens by Apple and the
telcos. This project is meant to open up the installed web appliction
dynamic; bringing us back to the openness that made the web so useful
and popular in the first place.
Great work Shawn. I'm really looking forward to working with you on
this.
