Monthly Report For June, 2010
=============================

Members and advisers,

Work in progress, completed work, and financial statements of The
Fireworks Project for the month of June, 2010.

Finances
--------

[Balance Sheet -- Google Spreadsheet](http://spreadsheets.google.com/
ccc?key=0AqaYslezw-
VQdFRhcHhCVV9CamdWbUNFOUhfTDRWZFE&hl=en&authkey=CMqQwrIM)

There are some changes to the balance sheet this month. I refinanced
the loan I gave the corporation last year at the same 9% interest rate
as last time. So, in other words, I gave the company a $2,180 loan to
pay back the $2,180 it owed me for last year. No money actually
changed hands by refinancing the loan this way.

Work In Progress
----------------

* The Crown Construction pilot program is being implemented as a
Firefox extension. I'm fairly certain I'll have something to show you
by Monday (July 12th) and, pending the availability of the folks at
Crown, will be deploying it next Thursday (July 15th).

I've also started a [GitHub project repository](http://github.com/
kixxauth/crownconstruction) for this project. The first commit was on
Sept 4th, 2009... It feels like a lifetime ago. Anyway, if you are
interested in the code, I'll be happy to answer questions about it.

* We're working on 're-messaging' the content on our website to more
accurately communicate who we are and what we do. But our 0.1 launch
is more than just the website. Please have a look at the discussions
and get involved with this initiative whenever you possibly can. This
milestone is due Friday, July 16th.

* http://fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/projects/3775079/milestones/14887069/comments

* We've decided that the presentation / slideshow on the [website
wireframe](http://5.latest.fireworkscomputer.appspot.com/) is a good
idea and it should stay. Igor has put in a great deal of time doing
[illustrations](http://github.com/kixxauth/Fireworks-Project-Website/
tree/version_5/assets/presentation/) for it. You should take a moment
to check them out if you have not seen them yet.

Mike has also made [some comments](http://
fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/projects/3775079/milestones/15285423/
comments#70864557) on the presentation, but I have not had time to
work on it since then.

* Mike is [working on styling](http://fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/
projects/3775079/todo_items/58831490/comments) for the "Hacker's and
Hitchhikers Guide" with a few suggestions from Shawn and myself.

* We've been talking about package management for a while, but Shawn
has [put the discussion](http://fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/
projects/3775079/posts/28550029/comments#71737878) back on the front
burner. This is great, because we really need to get cranking on a
package manager and catalog (sortof like CPAN or apt-get) as a basis
for future work.

Completed Work
--------------

* I started a [priority list](http://fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/
projects/3775079/todo_lists/9460965) of stuff that we should be
working on. Comments on the list and ideas for items that should be on
the list are requested.

* I coded a prototype [source build tool](http://github.com/kixxauth/
kake) as a Firefox extension with some [good feedback](http://
fireworksfactory.basecamphq.com/projects/3775079/milestones/15122085/
comments) from Shawn, Mike, and Igor.

* I [fixed a bug and added a feature](http://github.com/kixxauth/DCube/
blob/master/RELEASE_NOTES) to the DCube server running on App Engine.
These changes bumped the version number to 0.7.1

My votes for June.

Shawn Davis: 15,000
I made a big points pledge for comments, ideas, documents, designs,
and prototypes for the Kixx application delivery platform. Shawn got
the ball rolling with some discussion as well as a post on package
management architecture. I'm sending 3% his way in addition to some
points for feedback he gave regarding other projects.

Igor Petrov: 14,000
I pledged 5% for completed work regarding the presentation that will
be going on our new website. Igor stepped up and did the artwork,
which is the most time consuming part, so I'm sending 3% his way in
addition to points for feedback he gave regarding other projects.

Mike O'Hara: 11,000
I pledged an upper bound of 5% for working on the styling for the
"Hacker's and Hitchhikers Guide." Mike got the project underway, so
I'm sending 2% his way in addition to some points for feedback he gave
regarding other projects.

Michael Roberts: 500
For adding to the discussion of a 2 week project.

Sorry I've been so quiet; we're in Budapest for the summer (two
months) and leading *up* to that was an insane time, as always.

I haven't been following things for the last month, so I'm going to
vote 1000 points to each active member who isn't me: thus 1000 each to
Kris, Mike, Igor, Didiet, Thomas, and Shawn. It's kind of a non-
voting vote, and I'll participate more in July.
