Hello everyone!
I hope this email finds you doing well!
I am emailing to ask if you or anyone you know would be interested in participating in a research study that I am doing for my dissertation. The purpose of the research study is to determine whether or not black queer women’s media consumption and engagement influences their sexual identity and behavior. I am seeking to find women who are willing to meet with me for ONE interview that will last 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours.
To be eligible for participation, women must meet the following criteria:
· 1) be between the ages of 18-34;
· 2) identity as black/African-American;
· 3) identify as a woman;
· 4) engage in emotional, romantic, and/or sexual relationships with women;
· and 5) either currently reside in the Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area OR if they currently live outside of the Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area, then they must have previously lived in the Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area for three years or more, and intend on returning.
I will be in Atlanta conducting interviews from July 1, 2015 – July 11, 2015. If you or someone you know are interested in participating in the study, then please contact me as soon as possible to learn more about the study and set up an interview. (I will also be returning to Atlanta this fall to conduct additional interviews for those who are not available to interview in early July.)
For those of you currently living either in Boston, MA or in the greater New England area, please contact me to schedule an interview anytime after June 15, 2015.
An informed consent form with detailed information about the research study is attached to this email. Please contact me via email at either calist...@bc.edu or via phone at 229-343-4938 if you are interested in participating in the survey, or if you have any questions or concerns.
If you do not meet the criteria for participating in this study, then please consider forwarding this information out to your friends, social networks, institutions, departments, classes, and/or any individuals that you think may be interested in participating.
Thank you for your time,
