Dear colleagues
Indigenous-led Country-based research, or cross-cultural research that involves significant collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners, is growing strongly.
CSIRO Publishing have commissioned a ‘special issue’ of the journal Wildlife Research, to showcase the increasing contribution of Indigenous Australian people and collaborations to wildlife research. We are acting as the guest editors for this special issue (Jack Pascoe, Stephen van Leeuwen, Marlee Hutton, Emilie Ens, Hannah Cliff, Sarah Legge)
We are emailing to invite you to consider submitting a manuscript to this special issue. The submission deadline is the 31 March 2024; online articles will be made available as they are finalised, and we expect the compiled special issue to be published later that year, or early in 2025.
The special issue aims to include a range of papers on Indigenous knowledge, ecology, management and conservation of wild animals and their habitats. We also encourage work that highlights the expert Indigenous Knowledge of fauna and Country.
Submissions can take the form of original research papers, reviews, or perspective articles. The latter could include interviews with respected Elders or knowledge holders.
More information is available in the attached pdf. If you have a manuscript that you think may suit this special issue, please get in touch with one of us guest editors to discuss your idea. As well as being able to confirm the paper is potentially suitable, we would like to make the process as efficient as possible by having a good idea what is coming down the pipes in a few months time.
Please also forward this email to anyone you know of that might have conducted work suitable for contributing to this journal issue.
Best regards,
