how do I get number of visitors for a given country

On of the great features of firestats is the ability to show
individual country visitors.
To do this, in Wordpress one has to log in to control panel and click
on firestats and look under countries.
I would lik to write a program that logs directly into database and
retrive the number of individual country visitors count.
Can someone please help?
