Hello All,
Firesim uses xdma IP and xdma IP kernel drivers for host to card communication. However, firesim docs have instructions for xvsec installtions for OnPrem cards.
Q:
Why do we need to install XVSEC for Firesim OnPrem? What is the purpose of XVSEC in firesim?

The XVSEC installation instructions are for VCU118 users (mainly to program the bitstream). U250-like FPGAs use JTAG to program the bitstream. XDMA is used for all FPGAs for data communication to/from the FPGA.
We tell users to install all utilities (even if you may not use it) since our documentation tries to be a catch-all (cover all cases) that users might have.
