Hi,

I think I know the answer already but maybe it can be confirmed. When a spot-instance f1 is interrupted (suspended), I assume the FPGA simulation state is not preserved and picked up again after the instance is resumed? If someone wants to run a simulation from start to end the on-demand pricing must be chosen to guarantee no interruption, right?

Best,
Björn

FPGA simulation state is not preserved if a spot instance is terminated.

The question of choosing on-demand pricing vs. spot pricing often depends on the length of your simulation. If the simulation is “short” (i.e., less than an hour or two), the likelihood of the spot instance being revoked is fairly small (and also, it’s not too costly to re-run the simulation). If the simulation is long (several hours) then you will likely prefer to be on the safe side and select on-demand pricing.
