RoCC Area Utilization Report

Hi,

I was wondering what would be the best method to report the area utilization of a RoCC module. I couldn't find anything in the documentation.

I have found the Viviado project in firesim/deploy/results-build/[Design]/[...]/vivado_proj. In another thread, I found that there was supposed to be a reports folder which is not there for me. I opened the Vivado project and generated a utilization report but was unable to find my RoCC accelerator in the report.

Is there a way to get the utilization for the RoCC module? The other option would be to generate the core without the module and compare the results.

Hi Jan,

In Vivado, you can generate a utilization report with hierarchy enabled, among other things (e.g., exclude a model). I recommend the check the user guide [1] and for automation/TCL commands the user guide 835 [2]. To integrate your custom utilization report commands into the Chipyard flow, you need to adapt the TCL script for the FPGA flow [3, not tested myself, but looks like the correct one).
