General firesim setup questions

HI, I am trying to get firesim running on a VCU 118 board.
But before I get there, I have come a cross a few things which is puzzling to me.
I hope someone can explain.
first the setup I am running is a local build maching and a remote run farm.
Why does the guide specify to run the the sourceme-manager.sh with --skip-ssh-setup?
this is seem to be a setting only applicable if running all machines locally?
unless I am missing something obvious, I think the guide should specify to run the command, and IF running locally to add the option to skip ssh setup.
I can create a pull request if my understanding is correct?
2. the last step of the setup guide, enumerate fpga
produces an output file named firesim-db.json in /opt/
Why is this put in opt? generally if the run farm is not the same machine, the firesim user does not have root priviliges and cannot create this file.
would it not me better to put this file somewhere else?
alternatively the guide needs to be updated with info on making the /opt/ folder writable for users in the firesim group?
what would be the best approach in that case?
