I wanted to get a list started of working wifi chipsets and ones that
have issues.

I've test firesheep and got it working on my Mac mini model A1347.

My 64bit Vista laptop is having troubles with it's Broadcom BC43XX
chipset and driver.

The Broadcom BCM4312 should work. - It works in Promiscuous Mode on
Linux, as long as you use the B43 driver.
-- the WL driver doesn't work. (or not as easily)

The Broadcom BCMxxxx card on my Late 2007 Macbook worked.

My HP 2710p with an Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN does not show up as an
available interface. OS WIN7 Pro 64bit. FF 3.6.12.

WORKING
- Intel 3945ABG on XP (SP3), driver version 10.5.1.72 (necessary in
order to support promiscuous mode, or monitor mode as Intel calls
it). Configure "Mixed mode protection" to be "RTS/CTS enabled" in
Advanced tab of network adapter configuration. Also, 10.5.1.75 and
some other 10.5.1.x version is supposed to support promiscuous/monitor
mode.

NOT WORKING
- Intel 3945ABG on Win7 (no 10.5.x.x drivers for Win7)
- Intel 5300AGN on Win7 (driver version 13.0.0.107. not sure if
there's a promiscuous driver for this newer card)

It's worth noting that even though hardware supports promiscuous/
monitor mode, the driver must as well. It's also worth noting that
there is WAY better promiscuous/monitor mode support in Linux drivers,
so once this is working in Linux we're doubly effed.

It must also support DLT_EN10MB as the datalink type, at least on
linux.

The unfortunate thing is that WinPcap does not use Vista's support for
802.11 monitor mode with native 802.11 drivers, which is probably why
it is so troublesome.
